Easiest. Childbirth. Ever.

So my little man is now 20 days old!  It’s hard to believe it’s  been 20 days already, but time goes quickly when you’re occupied with children:)

I have to say that this was the EASIEST child birth I ever had.  We scheduled a c section this time around.  Last time I ended up with an emergency section because I had an abnormally excessive amount of amniotic fluid for no reason at all.  Well, an ultrasound towards the end showed the same condition with this pregnancy, and although we were planning on a section anyways, this finalized any doubts we had.  Not to mention it bumped it up a few days earlier.

Oatmeal. A Weight Loss Wonder.

Oats.  Oats.  Oats.  It’s one of my favorite breakfasts when it’s cold out, mainly because of its versatility.  I can change it’s delivery with my mood…adding apples and cinnamon, frozen blueberries, raisins, or whatever my little heart desires.  Did you know that simply eating breakfast raises your metabolism by 10%?  Naturally, I assumed that the more processed an oat is, the less nutritional it was, however when I started looking into it, I was happy to discover I was WRONG!

And the baby is…..

The news has been sinking in for over a week now.

We are having a baby boy!!!!

I didn’t think I’d be as excited as I am, but I am just thrilled for many reasons.  Little boys are so cute, especially with their moms, in the same way little girls are daddy’s little angels.  I am so happy that Mason will have a little brother.  Brothers and the relationships they have are so important, especially later in life.  I’m thankful that he and J won’t be suffocated by a cloud of estrogen and perhaps this little guy will create some balance, although being perfectly honest, Addie is more of a bruiser as a toddler than Mason ever was.  I anticipate a future of many mood swings involving Ana, Addie, and myself and I think the men that are around that while growing up become more rounded men.  Seriously!  I dated a guy that was an only child once and he had absolutely no clue about women.  Another guy I dated only had a brother, and the dynamics in a relationship in which the male has little or no experience with sisters is so evident in how he handles practically everything.

Happy Friday:)

It’s 7:00, rainy, windy, pitch black outside, and all three kids are still asleep.

It’s one of those days that goes against ever fiber of my being.  Everything around me says, “stop and sit,” but for some reason I have the hardest time doing that.  I think I hate doing nothing at all.  I think I am unable to relax.  I actually feel guilty if I’m not doing something productive.  I’m convinced nap time is better when we are out and about all morning.  My coffee is always cold, half way through because I’ve become distracted by something else I’ve “had to do.”  I can honestly say that the only time I ever enjoy a hot cup of coffee from its beginning to end is when we are at our family home in the mountains.  There’s something about that beautiful place that MAKES me relax.

Bun in the Oven Update

So I am now nearly 19 weeks pregnant, and I would adore a baby bump at this point in my pregnancy!  Some days I want to wear a sign that says, “I’m pregnant, I don’t just drink a ton of beer,” as I catch people staring at my stomach.  It feels like they’re playing that game, “which of these things does not belong.”  I actually had some random woman yesterday create a conversation with me about hair and children, and when I said that I’m due in March she said, “Oh I thought you just had a pot belly.  You know, alot of women have them.”

You Have to Crawl Before You Learn to Walk

This simple saying applies to so many areas of our lives.  So often, we deprive ourselves of things that are truly attainable because we are so caught up in how to possibly complete the steps in getting there.  Rather than creating a plan, we give up.  If it won’t be fast enough, we quit.  Maybe it’s our inability to focus.  Maybe it’s our fear of failure.  One thing is certain and it is that you won’t know until you try.

How to Supplement Your Supplements.

It’s a strange day and age we live in.  We are in a current movement in which everyone is starting to actually care about where our food comes from.  We want organic.  We want non-gmo.  We want grass fed beef.  We don’t want to be ingesting harmful pesticides and insecticides.  Yet we use drugs to correct our health problems as an alternative to proper nutrition.

This Is For You

There are millions of blogs.  Millions.  Here I am, just another voice in a sea of millions.  I’m not exactly sure where I’m going with it, but I’m loving it.  I enjoy researching topics that interest me, especially when it seems to be something everyone should know.  Of course, things like GMO’s are not typically talked about in normal day to day conversations.  The FDA would like you to be as sheltered as possible about things of this nature.  So I research and I try to be a voice and hope that maybe I’ve shared something with you that you didn’t already know.

Tea Defeats Coffee

America loves coffee.  Our lives begin everyday with coffee.  But should you trade your keurig in for a kettle?

Did you wake up today and NEED a warm cup of coffee?  It’s a habit for most people, really.  That is why some people even grab a cup of decaf.  It’s a comfort thing.  It tells you, “it’s time to wake up,” and somehow you feel like you will be more productive and have a better day if you can embrace a warm cup of coffee first.
